Local people tell that this was the favourite beach of the prince Aga Khan. In fact known it is known as the “spiaggia del principe” (beach of the prince). He preferred it because of its fine white sand and crystalline waters, with colors ranging from green to blue, whose gleam comes from the shallow sand and granites.
His name originally was Poltu di li Cogghj, namely “Port of skins”, as in the past it was used as a place of loading for all local products especially leather.
The beach, surrounded by lush Mediterranean vegetation, is configured as bow divided in two by a large rock of pink granite rocks.
The access to the beach is completely free, and you can hire sun beds and umbrellas in the small settlement, which also features a bar, located close to the beach. To really enjoy it, we suggest you to attend it on those days when the wind blows from the west, as the beach faces south-east.
The winding path and the unpaved road to join the beach, make it not suitable for people with disabilities.
