La Sciumara

Doggy Beach

Little sandy beach, close to the marsh of Saloni, the Sciumara beach is well known to the fishers of clams and razor shell. It is one of the three beaches of Arzachena where dogs are allowed. The others are Lu Postu, on the way to Baia Sardinia, and Poltu Liccia which belongs to the area of Costa Smeralda.

The  typical yellowish sand,  its sea bed less clear than other ones of the Costa Smeralda and the conformation of the beach, which sometimes is submerged, depend on its close proximity to the  mouth of  Rio San Giovanni.

The  whole area together, with its freshwater course and wide wetlands behind the coastline, is a precious natural area.

Laying on the sand you can admire flamingoes,  black-winged stilts, cormorants and more species which have found here their ideal habitat.

Your dog can freely have fun on the Sciumara beach.
