Archaeological Heritage in the foreground on 21st e 22nd September
Arzachena dedicates a whole weekend entirely devoted to the discovery of the archaeological sites and its first inhabitants thanks to Archeoday organized within the Heritage Days promoted by the Minister of Culture.
Among the events held in historical sites all over Italy, Arzachena 21st and 22nd September is proposing ad hoc events to promote its cultural heritage.
The Nuraghe La Prisgiona and its village, the Giants’ Tomb of Coddu ‘Ecchju and the Necropolis of Li Muri, but also the municipal auditorium and Labenur museum will be hosting guided visits together with artistic performances, meeting with experts, screening of documentaries, nuragic painting or stone working workshops. Saturday, September 21st , 2019
From 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. – Guided visits to the archaeological site of La Prisgiona, the Giants’ Tomb Coddu ‘Ecchju and necropolis Li Muri
At 11:00 a.m. – Ticket office at the necropolis Li Muri
Prehistoric painting workshop organized by the Labenur Anemos Museum snc
After a short introduction on wall paintings of the Palaeolithic and Neolithic Age, painting techniques with natural pigments will be shown. Every participant will realize a painting on paper or stone according to the examples given.
Time: 2 hours | Competitors: aged 6 and over
At 4:00 p.m. – Ticket office at the necropolis Li Muri
Sanding stone workshop organized by the Labenur Anemos Museum snc
Introduction on stone working technique during the Palaeolithic and Neolithic Age. Afterwards, a workshop where the pupils can realize a charm in steatite (soapstone) and smooth it by rubbing with water.
Time: 2 hours | Competitors: aged 8 and over
At 7:00 p.m. – Nuragic Age Workshop
Experimental Archaeology Workshop: the nuragic bread organized by Laboratorio Ripam Associazione Sicut Erat.
Thanks to the experimentation using pans recreated in accordance with the original models and following the techniques of that time and thanks also to the archaeological and etnoarchaeological data, it has been possible to recreate the art of baking of the nuragic people, from the milling of wheat to the baking of flatbread.

Sunday, September 22nd
At 11:00 a.m. – Nuraghe La Prisgiona
Nuragic Pottery Workshop organized by the Labenur Anemos Museum snc
The molding of clay. After a short introduction on clay, how to find it and cleanse it, all the participants will learn how to shape by hand and make items as it happened during the Neolithic and/or Nuragic Age. The workshop is divided in two steps:
1) the making of “pintadere” (a circular clay artefact) and nuragic oil lamps;
2) the making of askoïd pitchers;
